Thanking Women in Agriculture!
Wishing all women a bright Women’s Day celebrations! Every year 8th of March is celebrated as the Women’s Day throughout the world. Formerly, only a few professions such as teaching, nursing etc which require enormous amount of patience were the exclusive preserve of the women.
But the recent decades have witnessed amazing development in the lives of women. The women from all walks of life have been scaling heights in various spheres of life throughout the globe. They have been proving their mettle in all of them. It is also well known that the upbringing of children with the good moral values and education, all depend on the role played the women of the families the mothers.
This kind of brilliant change in the lives of women appeared to be happening largely among the urban women. And in order to fill in this gap and to help the women from the rural areas several initiatives are being carried out by both the state and central governments in India in recent years.
On this occasion of Women’s Day, we need to think of the extraordinary role played by the women in the socio-economic sphere here in the villages. In agriculture and farming women contribute in an outstanding manner.
Women work in farms in sowing, weeding, watering harvesting, husking etc. While women contribute more than 50% to all the activities related to agriculture and farming it is hardly recognized and rewarded. They need to get their due recognition and get empowered.
Similarly a lot of ills are plaguing agriculture and cattle farming activities now. The dearth of workers to carry out agricultural operations has become a very important problem, as rural workforce has been increasing getting attracted towards urban based employment.
And because of this, mechanization has become the reality with different types of tools being used in the farming operations. Women need to adapt to new technological developments that have become part of the agriculture and farming in the villages here.
Young girls in the villages need to equip themselves in the skills required for agricultural related activities such as value addition and marketing of their produce and goods. They need to take to various courses in the agriculture oriented studies. Such approach will make rural women to get the due recognition of their contributions and lead to financial independence and ultimate empowerment.
We take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to the women in the villages for their unparalleled contribution as members of their respective families for taking care of the children and also participation in the economic well being through their labor.

அனைத்து பெண்களுக்கும் ஒளிமயமான மகளிர் தின வாழ்த்துகள்! ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மார்ச் 8 ஆம் தேதி உலகம் முழுவதும் மகளிர் தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. முன்பெல்லாம், அபரிமிதமான பொறுமை தேவைப்படும் ஆசிரியர், செவிலியர் போன்ற சில தொழில்கள் மட்டுமே பெண்களின் பிரத்யேகப் பாதுகாப்பாக இருந்தன.
ஆனால் சமீபத்திய தசாப்தங்களில் பெண்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் அற்புதமான வளர்ச்சியைக் கண்டுள்ளது. வாழ்க்கையின் அனைத்து தரப்பு பெண்களும் உலகம் முழுவதும் பல்வேறு துறைகளில் உயர்ந்து வருகின்றனர். அனைத்திலும் தங்கள் திறமையை நிரூபித்து வருகின்றனர். நல்ல தார்மீக விழுமியங்கள் மற்றும் கல்வியுடன் குழந்தைகளை வளர்ப்பது அனைத்தும் தாய்மார்களின் குடும்பப் பெண்களின் பங்கைப் பொறுத்தது என்பதும் அனைவரும் அறிந்ததே.
பெண்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் இத்தகைய அற்புதமான மாற்றம் பெரும்பாலும் நகர்ப்புற பெண்களிடையே நிகழ்கிறது. இந்த இடைவெளியை நிரப்புவதற்காகவும், கிராமப்புற பெண்களுக்கு உதவுவதற்காகவும் சமீப ஆண்டுகளில் இந்தியாவில் மாநில மற்றும் மத்திய அரசுகள் மூலம் பல முயற்சிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.
மகளிர் தினமான இந்தச் சந்தர்ப்பத்தில், இங்குள்ள கிராமங்களில் சமூகப் பொருளாதாரத் துறையில் பெண்கள் ஆற்றிவரும் அசாதாரணமான பங்கைப் பற்றி நாம் சிந்திக்க வேண்டும். விவசாயம் மற்றும் விவசாயத்தில் பெண்கள் சிறந்த பங்களிப்பை வழங்குகிறார்கள்.
பெண்கள் பண்ணைகளில் விதைத்தல், களையெடுத்தல், நீர் பாய்ச்சுதல், உமித்தல் போன்றவற்றில் பணிபுரிகின்றனர். விவசாயம் மற்றும் விவசாயம் தொடர்பான அனைத்து நடவடிக்கைகளிலும் பெண்கள் 50% க்கும் அதிகமான பங்களிப்பை வழங்கினாலும், அது அரிதாகவே அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டு வெகுமதி அளிக்கப்படுகிறது. அவர்களுக்கு உரிய அங்கீகாரம் கிடைத்து அதிகாரம் பெற வேண்டும்.
அதேபோன்று விவசாயம் மற்றும் கால்நடை வளர்ப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளில் தற்போது பல தீமைகள் பிடித்துள்ளன. கிராமப்புற தொழிலாளர்கள் நகர்ப்புற அடிப்படையிலான வேலைவாய்ப்பின்பால் ஈர்க்கப்படுவது அதிகரித்து வருவதால், விவசாய நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்வதற்கான தொழிலாளர்களின் பற்றாக்குறை மிக முக்கியமான பிரச்சனையாக மாறியுள்ளது.
இதன் காரணமாக, விவசாய நடவடிக்கைகளில் பல்வேறு வகையான கருவிகள் பயன்படுத்தப்படுவதன் மூலம் இயந்திரமயமாக்கல் யதார்த்தமாகிவிட்டது. இங்குள்ள கிராமங்களில் விவசாயம் மற்றும் விவசாயத்தின் ஒரு அங்கமாகிவிட்ட புதிய தொழில்நுட்ப வளர்ச்சிக்கு ஏற்றவாறு பெண்கள் மாற வேண்டும்.
கிராமங்களில் உள்ள இளம்பெண்கள், விவசாயம் தொடர்பான செயல்களுக்குத் தேவையான திறன்களை வளர்த்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும், அதாவது மதிப்பு கூட்டுதல் மற்றும் தங்கள் விளைபொருட்கள் மற்றும் பொருட்களை சந்தைப்படுத்துதல். அவர்கள் விவசாயம் சார்ந்த படிப்புகளில் பல்வேறு படிப்புகளை எடுக்க வேண்டும். இத்தகைய அணுகுமுறை கிராமப்புறப் பெண்களின் பங்களிப்புகளுக்கு உரிய அங்கீகாரத்தைப் பெறவும், நிதிச் சுதந்திரம் மற்றும் இறுதி அதிகாரம் பெறவும் வழிவகுக்கும்.
குழந்தைகளைக் கவனித்துக்கொள்வதற்கும், அவர்களின் உழைப்பின் மூலம் பொருளாதார நல்வாழ்வில் பங்கேற்பதற்கும் அந்தந்த குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த பெண்கள் இணையற்ற பங்களிப்பிற்காக கிராமங்களில் உள்ள பெண்களுக்கு எங்கள் நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.
